Not Guilty Verdicts in Large Scale Investment Fraud case

Quentin appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on behalf of KA a company director who was due to stand trial on an indictment containing five counts of Fraud. The case revolved around the trade in financial instruments and Commercial Mortgage Obligations to the value of over €57,000,000 in Northern Europe and South America. Prior to trial Quentin lodged a number of extensive applications for disclosure and for the exclusion of evidence which were extremely problematic for the prosecution. On the first day of trial the Prosecution indicated they were no longer pursuing charges against the defendant KA and chose to offer no evidence against the defendant. As a result Not Guilty verdicts were entered on all five counts and all restraint orders were lifted allowing the now acquitted defendant unfettered enjoyment of all funds and property previously restrained by the prosecution.
