He specialises in cases involving fatalities in the workplace as well as fire safety cases and asbestos prosecutions. He acts for companies as well as persons prosecuted as individuals. To see more on Quentin's cases take a look at the Health and Safety Blog page.
Quentin’s ‘easy manner’ and ‘approachability’ has made him a first port of call in Health and Safety prosecutions.
A large proportion of Quentin’s practice is advice to companies or individuals on their legal position before Court proceedings have been instigated. He regularly advises following the issuing of Prohibition or Enforcement notices and specialises in advising companies on their potential legal liabilities following an accident at work or during an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive or by local authorities.
Quentin specialises in cases where individuals, self-employed persons and companies are accused of breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Quentin is sought for his experience in this extremely technical area of the law, he lectures on these regulations to the HSE and is uniquely placed to advise upon the many subtleties and loopholes present in the legislation.
He has recently successfully acted in R v KS and others, a jury trial in which an individual company director was prosecuted under the CDM following the death of a construction worker due to the collapse of an excavation on a building site.
